Gitar akustik asal Bandung, Jawa Barat, mampu mencuri perhatian dunia. Pasalnya, ketebalan gitar bernama Anymo hanya 8 milimeter atau 10 kali lipat lebih tipis dibandingkan gitar akustik umumnya.
Adalah Raka Shiddiq (33), si perancang gitar akustik unik itu. Meski tipis, suara yang dihasilkan Anymo Esntial Guitar milik Raka tidak jauh berbeda dengan gitar akustik pada umumnya.
Raka mengatakan perbedaan utama gitar tipisnya dengan gitar akustik biasa adalah tidaknya ruang resonansi. Sebagai pengganti, ia menerapkan sistem microchamber. Dengan begitu, setipis apapun bunyi yang dihasilkan, selama dapat dimainkan, akan tetap menimbulkan resonansi.
"Sistem microchamber membuat suara yang lebih panjang berkat konstruksi neckthrough, dikombinasikan dengan sistem undersaddle piezo untuk performa suara terbaik tanpa noise. Dengan desain ini, suara yang dihasilkan tidak memiliki resonansi berlebih yang sering menjadi penyebab feedback," kata Raka kepada Liputan6.com, Rabu, 17 Oktober 2017.
Raka menuturkan awalnya, dia membuat gitar akustik biasa sejak 2001. Namun, dia merasa jenuh dengan bentuk gitar yang begitu saja. Sejak 2015 lalu, mantan dosen ini pun akhirnya memutuskan untuk berkreasi dengan gitar buatannya.
"Saya lihat perkembangan di sekitar, komputer tadinya tebal jadi tipis, handphone juga demikian. Mengamati perkembangan desain minimalis itu, saya pikir gitar juga harus ada," ujarnya.
Gitar tipis ini, menurut Raka, lebih efisien dari segi bahan baku. Selain itu, proses pengerjaannya lebih cepat. Satu gitar akustik tipis saat ini dapat diselesaikan dalam waktu tiga minggu.
Kelebihan Anymo, kata Raka, terletak pada minimnya feedback, baik saat digunakan di atas panggung maupun di studio. Meski baru akan diluncurkan awal tahun depan, produk Anymo sudah membuat banyak orang terkesan. Hal itu dirasakan Raka saat mengikuti sejumlah pameran internasional.
Dalam ajang Business of Design Week 2016 di Hongkong misalnya, gitar akustiknya memperoleh penghargaan The Most Marketable Product. Begitu pula respons yang didapatnya saat mengikuti South-by-SouthWest (SXSW 2017) Austin USA dan Salone Del Mobile Milano 2017 di Italia.
Setelah melalui berbagai pameran, Raka mengaku jadi lebih sibuk melayani permintaan. Untuk saat ini saja, sebanyak 200 unit gitar tipis sedang disiapkan.
"Kalau sekarang kita lagi mengejar 200 gitar. Permintaannya tinggi sekali tapi kita tahan dulu," ujar Raka yang juga tengah menyiapkan industri semi massal untuk produksi gitarnya.
Raka juga mengaku sejumlah musisi berminat pada gitar buatannya. Di antaranya musisi balada Ferry Curtis dan solois Nissan Fortz.
Rencananya, dia akan membuat beberapa seri gitar akustik yang dikhususkan bagi kolektor. Meskipun begitu, gitar standar tetap dibuatkan massal.
"Kita juga lagi menyiapkan gitar hasil eksperimen dengan carbon fiber, material yang biasa dipakai untuk mobil F1 dan pesawat. Prototype sudah ada, tinggal sekali penyempurnaan," ucapnya.
Soal harga, gitar tipis ini dibanderol mulai dari Rp 3,8 juta. Pra-pemesanan bisa dilakukan di laman anymo.id.
"Kita sekarang masih pre-order. Dari gelombang pertama, sudah banyak yang pesan," tuturnya.
Kayu menjadi bahan utama pembuatan gitar meskipun saat ini sudah banyak bahan alternatif selain kayu. Raka termasuk di dalamnya.
"Material gitar terutamanya yang sering dipakai itu biasanya kayu jenis Sonokeling atau Rosewood. Nah, saya mencoba bereksperimen di luar kayu Rosewood, pakainya mahogany (mahoni)," katanya.
Mahoni, selain bukan kayu langka, memiliki karakter yang berbeda. Raka pun memanfaatkan kayu yang sudah dipotong, bukan yang sengaja ditebang untuk menciptakan gitarnya.
"Memanfaatkan yang ada saja. Biasa dijadikan furnitur itu yang kita pakai. Kayunya juga lokal, masih di Pulau Jawa," ucapnya.
Meski harus mendapatkan kayu dari pembuat furnitur, bukan berarti kayu yang dipakai tidak resmi. Raka mengaku tak mau menggunakan kayu hasil pembalakan liar atau ilegal sekalipun harganya lebih murah.
"Kita resmi ada surat-suratnya. Selain resmi, juga bukan dari jenis kayu yang langka," katanya.
Selain berambisi agar gitarnya bisa menembus pasar global, Raka berharap gitar buatan lokal ini dapat mengurangi ketergantungan pada merek luar. Untuk itu, dia pun mendaftarkan hak paten dari gitar tipis buatannya.
"Sambil produksi berjalan, kita lagi mengurus legal-legalnya juga," ucapnya.
